Field service technician - mechanical systems
install, test & service HVAC systems and related devices requires basic knowledge of building & air conditioning system control sequences single and three phase motor circuits & drive systems refrigeration cycle, compressors & heat transfer devices air distribution and air flow measurement, electrical, mechanical and fire safety codes.
Other knowledge and skill requirements -
good written and verbal communications
legible handwriting and line drawing
Job requirements & working conditions -
overtime and weekend work are often required
work entails climbing ladders and heavy lifting
work is outdoors in markets with rooftop AC units
work requires manual dexterity and use of hand & power tools
work requires ability to distinguish wire & cable colors
work occasionally requires exposure to electric shock hazards
Typical qualifications and wage rates -
2 yr mechanical/electronics degree and no experience
5 years of relevant experience w/appropriate licenses
$12 - $18 hourly, $40000 to $60000 annual w/overtime pay
